What level is right for
you?
Level 1:
For brand new beginners and those who prefer to practice at a slower,
gentler pace.
Level 2:
Designed to take your practice to the intermediate level by offering
more advanced postures, challenging sequences, and deeper
concentration. Students must have some yoga experience and a current
practice.
Mixed Level:
A class for students at both levels 1 and 2.
Gentle:
For those with conditions that limit range of motion or require a more
restorative and supportive practice.
The
Styles we offer:
Hatha:
Includes longer holds of basic postures to promote balance, strength and flexibility and
concentration; breathing exercises; deep relaxation and a short
meditation.
Hatha/Flow:
Combines the longer holds of Hatha style practice with the flowing
sequences of Vinyasa flow style to promote strength, balance, endurance
and coordination of body and mind. Includes
breathing exercises; deep relaxation and a short meditation.
Vinyasa Flow:
Sequential
movement through asana linking movement with the breath. You will be
warmed and challenged at your level to create balance, strength,
flexibility and coordination.
Yoga for Core Strength:
Mixed level class for those interested in developing
strength, awareness and coordination in the muscles that stabilize the
core: abdominals, shoulders, and back. Strong emphasis on the breath
and mindfulness in this fun and challenging class. Short deep relaxation
follows.
Pre-Natal Yoga: Supports
women throughout pregnancy. Postures to strengthen the body to prepare
for delivery; facilitate recovery post-partum and alleviate some common
discomforts. Doctors note required.
Yin Yoga: Deep,
slow stretching of the hips, lower back and knees as postures are held
for 3-5 minutes. A wonderful compliment to other styles of yoga or any
fitness interest.
Beginning Meditation: Explore
the many benefits of meditation practice and find the style that suits
you best. During this 4 week introduction to meditation we will learn
to practice tantric (eye gazing), several styles of seated meditation,
walking meditation, mantra repetition, and mindfulness. Daily practice
sessions are available from 12:15-12:45 Tuesday through Friday and are
included in the session tuition. You may continue to come daily after
the session ends for a nominal fee which will be donated to a charitable
cause.
Daily Meditation:
The studio is open for silent meditation to promote the health and peace
of our community. Please sing-in, be seated quietly, plan on
staying for the full 30 minutes, and leave in silence in respect of
those present. Chairs and cushions provided. There is no
charge for this program.
